Hello! You’re receiving this email because you signed up for Care and Maintenance, my newsletter about the stories we tell about ourselves, each other, and the world.
I’ve decided to do a bit of a “de-branding.”
Why? Because I felt restricted by the format I’d created for myself and wanted more flexibility in what I wrote. Somehow I got it in my head that C&M emails should be long and sprawling, and I’d like to send more focused and brisk emails, with a greater respect for your time, and about a wider variety of topics. Starting now, this will just be Connor Unger’s newsletter.
Many of you are friends and family, but not all. So here’s a recap: I’m a fantasy novelist from the Twin Cities, and I’m working on a book with the support of a writing grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
Here are some reasons to stay subscribed:
You want to hear news about my book and future public reading.
You want some stellar recommendations from the worlds of literature, film, and the Internet. Often paired with thoughts on writing and how stories work.
You enjoy, from time to time, a little slice-of-life. Sit back. Stay a while.
If none of this sounds like your cup of tea, unsubscribe with no hassle by clicking the link at the bottom of this email. Here are some reasons to unsubscribe:
None of that sounds like your cup of tea.
You don’t know who I am and don’t care. (Perfectly fine!)
A wave of exhaustion hits you when you see my name in your inbox.
Life can be noisy. You don’t need me adding to it. Take care and be well.
If you’re still with me, though, welcome dear friend. The road is long and I look forward to seeing where we go together.
